PatternSensei Privacy Policy

Introduction

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting any data that might be handled by our PatternSensei extension. This policy explains our practices regarding data collection, usage, and protection in a clear and transparent manner.

PatternSensei is built to run entirely inside your own browser. It does not have a server, an account system, or a subscription of any kind — everything described below reflects that.

Information We Process (Not Collected, Not Transmitted)

When using the extension, we process:

• The chart data (price bars) already loaded on the TradingView page you’re viewing, read directly from the page to detect patterns
• Your pattern detection settings — pivot sensitivity, minimum wave size, per-pattern thresholds, and show/hide toggles
• Your Pattern Whitelist/Blacklist selections
• Your display preferences (whether trade levels are shown, whether pattern tooltips are shown, and similar UI settings)

Important Note: All of this is processed locally, inside your browser, using Chrome’s built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). None of it is transmitted anywhere. PatternSensei does not operate any backend server, and there is no cloud sync feature to opt into. Your chart data, your detection settings, and your pattern preferences never leave your device.

Information We Collect on Our Servers

None. PatternSensei does not have a server. There is no account to create, no login, and no data of any kind sent to us or stored on our infrastructure. Nothing about your usage of this extension is visible to us at all.

What We Don’t Collect

• We do not track which patterns you detect, which symbols you view, or which timeframes you use
• We do not access your TradingView account, credentials, or any TradingView data beyond the chart bars needed to run detection
• We do not collect browsing history or viewing habits
• We do not use analytics tools, tracking pixels, or advertising networks of any kind
• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal or account information, because the extension has no account system to collect it through

How We Use Information

We don’t. Because PatternSensei has no server and collects nothing, there is no information for us to use, analyze, or act on. All processing described in this policy happens locally on your own device, for the sole purpose of showing you pattern detection results and letting your preferences persist between sessions.

Permissions We Request and Their Usage

The extension requests the following permissions to function correctly:

• sidePanel: To provide the results interface where detected patterns are listed, alongside your TradingView chart.
• tabs: To communicate between the side panel, the content script, and the background service worker so detection and drawing commands reach the correct tab.
• storage: To save your settings, whitelist/blacklist selections, and display preferences locally on your device using chrome.storage.local.
• scripting: To inject the pattern detection engine into the TradingView page and to draw detected patterns (lines, fills, labels, and markers) directly on your chart.
• clipboardWrite: To support a debug utility that lets you copy raw chart bar data to your clipboard, for troubleshooting purposes only.

host_permissions:

• https://*.tradingview.com/*: To read the chart data needed for pattern detection and to draw results back onto the chart. This is the only site PatternSensei has any access to.

PatternSensei requests no other host permissions. It cannot access any website other than TradingView.

Data Protection

Because all data stays on your device, the main protection PatternSensei offers is architectural: there is no server to be breached, no account database to be exposed, and no transmission of your data to intercept. Specifically:

• No Network Transmission: PatternSensei makes no external network requests of any kind. All detection logic runs locally in your browser.
• No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use analytics tools, tracking pixels, or advertising networks.
• Local-Only Storage: All settings and preferences are stored using Chrome’s own storage API, subject to Chrome’s own security model, on your device only.

Information Sharing

We do not, and cannot, share your information with anyone, because we never receive any information from the extension in the first place. There is no third party involved in PatternSensei’s operation — no authentication provider, no payment processor, no analytics service, and no cloud sync provider.

Third-Party Services We Use

None. PatternSensei does not integrate with Google OAuth, Stripe, or any other third-party service. There is nothing to authenticate, subscribe to, or pay for.

Server Usage

PatternSensei does not use a backend server for any purpose. There is no user authentication, no subscription management, and no data storage outside your own browser.

Your Rights and Choices

Since PatternSensei stores nothing outside your own device, most data-rights requests are already fully in your hands:

• Access Your Data: All of your settings and preferences are visible directly in the extension’s own Settings panel, and can also be exported at any time as a JSON file.
• Delete Your Data: Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored settings and preferences from your browser. You can also reset everything to factory defaults at any time from within the extension itself, without uninstalling.
• Export Your Settings: Use the “Export options” button in Settings to download a complete copy of your configuration as a file.
• Opt-Out: Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all local data processing.

Because there is no account or server involved, there is no request we could fulfill on your behalf that you can’t already do yourself, instantly, from within the extension.

Data Retention

Settings and Preferences: Stored locally in your browser for as long as the extension remains installed, or until you reset them to default. Removed automatically when the extension is uninstalled.

Chart Data: Never stored beyond the current session. Bar data is read from the page to run detection and is not retained afterward.

We do not retain any data on our end, because we do not collect any.

Children’s Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. Since PatternSensei does not collect any personal information from any user, this applies equally regardless of age — there is no data collected from children or adults.

International Data Transfers

Not applicable. PatternSensei does not transmit any data anywhere, so there is no cross-border data transfer of any kind to disclose.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the extension’s features or legal requirements. Your continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Security Incidents

Because PatternSensei does not operate a server or store any user data outside your own device, there is no central store of user data that could be breached. In the unlikely event that a security issue is discovered in the extension itself (for example, in how it interacts with the TradingView page), we will:

• Address the issue promptly in an updated release
• Describe the nature of the issue in the extension’s update notes
• Recommend updating to the latest version as soon as it’s available

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area: because PatternSensei collects no personal data and operates no server, there is no processing of personal data by us that requires a legal basis under GDPR. Any local storage of your own settings on your own device is governed by Chrome’s own extension storage permissions, which you control directly and can revoke at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Consent

By installing and using the PatternSensei extension, you consent to:

• The local processing of chart data on your device, solely to run pattern detection
• The local storage of your settings and preferences using Chrome’s storage API
• The extension drawing detected patterns onto your TradingView chart at your request

Since PatternSensei does not collect any data on our end, there is no server-side consent to withdraw — you remain in full control of everything the extension does simply by using or uninstalling it.

You can stop all local data processing at any time by:

• Resetting your settings to default within the extension
• Uninstalling the extension

Remember that you can uninstall the extension at any time if you no longer agree with these terms.
