PatternSensei – Trading Pattern Detector on TradingView Charts
/BROWSER EXTENSION
Automated Pattern Recognition for TradingView
PatternSensei is a Chrome extension that scans your TradingView chart and automatically detects chart patterns as they form, right where you’re already trading. Instead of manually watching every candle or redrawing trendlines by hand, you open a side panel, click Detect Patterns, and get a live, organized list of everything currently forming or confirmed on your chart. It’s built specifically around how TradingView charts actually behave, running its analysis directly against the bars already loaded rather than requiring exported data or a separate platform. The result is pattern recognition that works continuously in the background of your normal charting workflow.
Broad, Serious Pattern Coverage
PatternSensei detects 78 distinct pattern types across four major families. Classical formations include Head and Shoulders, Double and Triple Tops and Bottoms, Triangles, Wedges, Flags, Cup and Handle, Diamonds, Channels, and more. Elliott Wave coverage spans Impulses, Zigzags, Flats, Diagonals, and complex corrections. Harmonic patterns include Gartley, Bat, Butterfly, Crab, Shark, Cypher, and ABCD, validated against real Fibonacci ratios. Candlestick detection covers 23 patterns, from Engulfing candles to Morning and Evening Stars. Every pattern family uses geometry and math suited to that specific pattern, not one generic shape-matching formula stretched across all of them.
Confidence, Signals, and Real Trade Levels
Every detected pattern comes with a confidence score reflecting how closely it matches its true geometric definition, so weak or borderline matches don’t get equal weight with clean ones. Each pattern also carries a clear signal — BUY, SELL, or WAIT — depending on whether it has actually confirmed with a real breakout or is still forming. Confirmed patterns include calculated entry, stop-loss, and target levels, computed using conventions specific to that pattern family rather than a one-size-fits-all formula. Crucially, PatternSensei also filters out patterns that are stale — already invalidated or already past their target — so your list stays genuinely actionable.
Built to Be Tuned, Not Just Used
PatternSensei ships with sensible defaults, but nothing about it is fixed. Nearly every pattern family has its own settings section — pivot sensitivity, minimum wave size, geometric tolerance — so detection can be tuned independently for triangles, harmonics, candlesticks, or anything else. The Pattern Whitelist/Blacklist goes further, letting you toggle any of the 78 pattern types on or off individually, so your results list only ever shows the setups you personally trade. Settings can be exported and re-imported at any time, making it easy to save a configuration and bring it back exactly as it was, on any machine.
Who PatternSensei Is For
PatternSensei is built for traders who already use chart patterns but don’t have time to scan every timeframe by hand. It works identically across crypto, stocks, forex, and futures, and on any timeframe TradingView supports, from one-minute charts to weekly swing setups. Elliott Wave and harmonic traders get faster, more consistent detection than doing it manually. Day traders get a live-relevance system built specifically to avoid clutter from setups that are already too old to act on. And anyone who has ever missed a setup simply by looking away at the wrong moment gets a second set of eyes that never blinks.
